Pigments

The word ” pigment ” derives from the Latin pigmentum ــ pingere to paint. Colored organic or in organic solids which are insoluble in the vehicle or substrate in which they are incorporated. They alter appearance by selective absorption (coloration ability) and scattering of light (hiding power ability). Pigments are dispersed in vehicles or substrates retaining their crystal or particulate structure throughout the coloration process.
